Letter of the week: Uu
Theme: Fairy Tales
Fairy tales have been enriching the lives of both the child and adult for over a hundred years. It allows the child to dream and wonder. It also introduces great literature at a very young age.
Unicorns are a wonderful fairy tale believe animal.
Why are umbrellas important? What season do we use them the most?
LITERACY: Caterpillars: We read many fairy tale stories: The Gingerbread Man, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Jack and the Bean Stalk.
They also have the opportunity to act out these stories in front of their peers.
MATH: The BUTTERFLIES have been practicing writing numbers 1-20. They are doing a great job.
MUSIC: Our singing and dancing has been wonderful. The children are enjoying Raffi and his silly songs and Greg & Steve who have a great collection of songs for little ones.
RELIGION: Prayer of the Month: Morning “Thank You” prayer. WE will be learning the Irish prayer, “May the Road rise to meet you…” this month too in honor of St. Patrick.
Extras….We are so happy to have the 4th graders come on Fridays to read to all of the students. We are able to pair up kids and off they go with their SJOA “reading giant.”
Tuesday the 2nd graders came to preschool to read stories by Dr. Suess – HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR. SUESS!!
We celebrated a wonderful day for Joshua Zoellner on Tuesday also. Joshua was adopted from Guatamala City when he was 8 months old. His parents, Gene and Katie, celebrate “Gotcha Day” on March 2nd every year because that was the day they “GOT” Joshua to be part of their family! He brought in cookies to celebrate with his classmates!
